ITS proud to be a sponsor of Atlantic rowing team

Sponsor of oarsome 3000 mile Atlantic Ocean race challengers

**UPDATE** The Ocean5 have smashed the world record! Completing the race in 35 days, 19 hours and 50 minutes arriving in Antigua on 17th January.

We are delighted to be a sponsor of The Ocean5, a team of five oarsmen which includes our Chairman, Kevin Gaskell, as they embark on an epic challenge to row more than 3000 miles across the Atlantic Ocean.

The intrepid five are taking part in the Talisker Whisky Atlantic Challenge, which starts early next month from San Sebastian in La Gomera, Canary Islands, Spain and finishes more than 3000 miles due west at Nelson’s Dockyard, English Harbour, Antigua & Barbuda.

The guys will be rowing around the clock, staying within the confines of their tiny 28x5ft wide rowing boat, where they will eat, sleep, row repeat, 24 hours a day, for around 45 days.

The Ocean5 are undertaking this challenge for very good reason. Each is or has been involved in the maritime industry, and so the state of our oceans is something that they all feel passionately about. As a result, every single penny they raise will go to the Plastic Soup Foundation

We wish them all the luck in the world and will be following their oarsome challenge. You can follow them on Facebook @TheOcean5Rowers
