Our team are some of the best in the telecommunications industry, and we’ve created a culture that encourages innovation and the development of exciting new ideas and models. This commitment to innovation means that we can better unlock the potential of the local authorities we work with as effectively as possible.

We’ve helped communities all over the country by utilising unique commercial models and infrastructure to make the most out of taxpayers’ budgets, while also providing wider commercial benefits.

Meeting your social value goals

Helping communities thrive is about more than just delivering a high-quality service – it’s about immersing ourselves fully in the needs of our public sector projects and organisations. This includes understanding your goals and how digitisation can help you achieve them, without compromising on growth, inclusivity, and sustainability.

We work with local authorities all over the UK to support their ambitions when it comes to delivering ultrafast, affordable, efficient, and reliable digital infrastructure.

Growth

For us, growth is all about inward investment in communities. It’s about providing local businesses and organisations with the underpinnings they need to succeed. Full fibre stimulates growth and regeneration in local areas and supports the technologies that individuals and businesses need to thrive.

Full fibre gives local IT firms the infrastructure to supply higher-quality and more reliable services to businesses in their areas, which in turn allows those businesses to better compete with larger local, national and global competitors.

This circular system makes a strong case for local authorities to invest in infrastructure, as the local growth that is encouraged brings back dividends for the community. For every £1 invested in digital infrastructure in a region,  £20 in economic benefit is returned.

Inclusivity

Of course, an investment in the community isn’t complete until it can be accessed by everyone in the community.

Full fibre connectivity can help to reach members of the community who may be struggling or who have previously not been able to access the help and support they need to make their lives better.

As well as helping businesses and residents meet their full potential, we also help build shared, equitable communities, where access is key and nobody gets left behind. Using infrastructure, public sector organisations can improve lives, not just as a collective, but on an individual level as well!

Full fibre for local communities can help to improve inclusivity in a multitude of different ways, including:

  • Opening up new technologies to help improve public service offerings.
  • Increasing access to digital services, particularly to the most vulnerable members of the community.
  • Harnessing the power of remote working and teaching technologies.
  • Closing the digital divide between certain areas and groups in the community.
  • Enhancing local authorities’ ability to deliver local services.

Whether it’s healthcare, transport, education, or urban planning to improve connectivity that is high on your list of priorities, the public sector partner scheme at ITS can help.

Sustainability

We only have one earth, and it’s important we take care of it wherever we can. At ITS, sustainability is at the forefront of what we do, and all of our decisions are made with sustainability in mind.

Digitisation by default has a range of sustainability benefits. Increased connectivity means an increased uptake in hybrid working and work-from-home models for a range of industries, which means fewer people driving to work every day. In addition, sustainability infrastructure such as EV infrastructure, flood warning systems, IoT connectivity and other green technologies can be implemented to help protect our world. Increased digitisation also allows for more reliable experiences on public transport, online learning resources and even telehealth provisions!

In addition, at ITS, we’re passionate about making our work as environmentally conscious as possible, reducing disruption and recycling wherever possible. We pioneered the use of public sector assets such as CCTV ducts, tram lines and other existing infrastructure to deliver full fibre connectivity.
